1947 in Oakdale, California. He grew up in Riverbank, where his father
owned a grocery store. While there, he attended Oakdale High School and
graduated in 1964. He attended college at California State University,
Stanislaus, and graduated in 1969, with a degree in Business. Herb
traveled, sang, and played piano for The Premiers, a Southern Gospel
Group, from 1965-1973. He later served as Minister of Music in churches
both in California and Texas. He was ordained by the Assemblyies of God in
1979 after graduating from the Berean School of Bible. His first senior
pastorate was Bethel Assembly in Corpus Christi, TX. In 1986, he bacame
the Pastor of Richland Faith Assembly of God, where he still serves
today. Also that same year he established his family singing group.
And in February of 1989, he established Richland Ministries to promote
Southern Gospel Music thru concerts and radio. Presently, Herb serves
as president of the Western States Gospel Music Association. He helped
form the WSGMA in 1990, which has done much to perpetuate Southern Gospel
Music in the Golden State. He also servesas Vice President of the Southern
Gospel Promoters Association. For the past two years, he has served on the
board of the Modesto Radio Museum. Herb is very appreciative and thankful for his many friends who have
supported his efforts to keep Southern Gospel Music a part of our culture in
Northern California.
Nancy Henry was born on November 1, 1952 in Luling, Texas and raised
in New Iberia, Louisiana. In 1968 her and her family moved to Ventura, Ca. where she graduated from Buena
High School in 1970. She met Herb while he was with the Premiers and singing at her home chruch in March of
1970. They were married on June 24, 1972. In 1973 Nancy graduated from Los Angeles County School of Nursing with a
diploma RN. She now works as the Secretary at Richland Faith Assembly of God and for Richland Ministries. She
sang with the group until 1993. In 1989, she developed a chronic cough and in 1993 was completely unable to
sing for 2 1/2 years. Her daughter Amanda filled her spot, where she remains today. Doctors still do not know
the cause for this cough, but she is able to sing a couple of songs at the concerts. She also does the
vast
majority of the behind the scenes work for the family and ministry. And she loves being "Mom" to all the groups
that come to the West Coast. Her
greatest job right now is being "Nana" to Melody Belle--her little princess and Liam Caylor--her little bubba boy. Being "Nana"
and meeting our friends at the door of our concerts with joy and love makes the "journey" great.
